I'm sure every blogger has his or her own favorite entry among those he or she has posted.
As for me, one I'm specially fond of is The Mermen, an edit splendidly shot by Bell Soto, which I shared with my readers around a year ago.

You'll understand my happiness when I realized that, besides that wonderful photo collection, there's also a complete video, in which all that magical lighting is enhanced by movement, as the models turn into actors.

One of the most luscious and dazzling editorials I've ever encountered, these glowing pics depict Tan's mermen in full, golden splendor.

Soto's lens captures the aureate light of a phantasmagoric encounter with these radiant beings.

Their androgynous beauty could bring to wreck any vessel, be it captained by an Amazon queen or a shrewd, manly Odysseus.

Soto shoots a Tale

Stylist: John Tan
Photography: Bell Soto
Models:
Addison Duffy, Brady Donnelly,
Jan Vlas, Jules Hamilton, Martin Gruca
Spencer Brown

Posing in a more or less punk-rock looks, from leather slacks and weird haidos (or wigs) to lipstick and black nails, but less aggresive and way more refined than the original hardcore garage-rockers of the 80s, these characters emerge from "Visual Tales" in an editorial created by the Tan & Soto team.

Captured in silk

Photography: Bell Soto
Model: Andy Shane

What captivity can be more elegant than to be restrained, not in chains or ropes, but in smooth, delicate and translucent hosiery?

At least, that's one's perception on admiring "Captive", an editorial by New York-based photographer Bell Soto who, as a matter of fact, has "caught" his young Canadian model in "the most provocative clothing in existence" for the "Rare issue" of See Like Me.

Cover face for a tale

Stylist John Tan just launched Visual Tales (Nov. 23rd), a new online menswear quarterly, to include short vids as well as pictures. Photographer Bell Soto collaborated with him in producing several alternative covers for the new publication.
Models were Jans Vlas, Addison Duffy, Brady Donnelly, Spencer Brown, Jules Hamilton and Martin Gruca.
He finally set not for one, but two (none of these!)
Anyways, which one would have been your choice?
